Description
SHINGKHAM KUENKHYAP – The Tibetan word Shingkham means ‘world of the Buddha’, Kuen means ‘everywhere’ and Khyap means ‘to spread’. This incense is a special one that was produced exclusively for the Potala palace at Lhasa. It contains all the requisite herbs and substances to worship and please Gyalwa Rignga (the 5 Dhyani Buddhas) Shingkham or (palace). The five Dhyani buddhas represent the basic mandala in ourselves, our environment and in the cosmos. All deities belong to one of these buddha families. Through their tantric practice, negative energies and attitudes are transformed into enlightened wisdoms. The white father Vairocana transforms anger. The blue father Aksobhya transforms ignorance and stupidity. The yellow father Ratnasambhava transforms pride. The red father Amithaba transforms lust. The green father Amoghasiddhi transforms jealousy.
Handmade by 3 sisters in Nepal, who have learned this traditional Tibetan technique from their Grandfather. We hope you enjoy the oriental fragrance of their exquisite creations, the fruit of many long years of experience. Practiced skill, continuous improvement and the passion of their grandfather, along with the collective effort of their grandmother and great grand aunt. This incense has a beautiful deep well rounded resinous earthy sweet scent with a caramel like note.
Dakpa Tamdin incense also boasts of being purely handmade, 100% vegan, with no artificial fragrance and is prepared and maintained under strict hygienic conditions. Our incense also lasts longer than most other incense available in the market because of its superior ingredients. We do not use paper or any other cheap materials that are quick to burn.
Dakpa Tamdin incense is very thick so most likely not fit inside a Tibetan incense burner hole. When I use very thick incense I stand it up straight in a ceramic pot with sand in it or I twist a piece of blue tack carefully around the base and stick it down around the hole of my incense burner.
This incense, along with all incense, is to provide an aromatic environment to purify our thoughts of conflicting emotions, calm the body and mind, sharpen our senses and help focus and concentrate. Incense is also used as an aid to meditation and prayer and bring vitality and inner peace to oneself. It is our mission at Dakpa Tamdin to provide you with products based on this theme as a companion in your solitude.
