Om Mani Padme Hum Wooden Incense Burner

These wooden incense burners are hand carved meticulously by Nepalese carvers with the design of flower petals and Om Mani Padme Hum letters in the center of the petals.

The first word Om is a sacred syllable and means the vibration or sound of the universe and represents divine energy that purifies the ego. The word Mani means “jewel” or “bead”, Padme is the “lotus flower” (the Buddhist sacred flower), and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment. As you can see, this is a powerful mantra with a lot of meaning behind it. The one phrase that is said to sum it all up is this: “The jewel is in the lotus,” or “Praise to the jewel in the lotus.”

This is to say that within all of us is the lotus flower, it’s just covered up by a lot of mud and muck. Reciting this mantra over and over again, with the right intention, is believed to get rid of the mud and muck until we are as sparkling, pure, compassionate and wise as the lotus flower itself.

Meditating and keeping in mind or reciting the 6-syllable Om Mani Padme Hum Mantra will assist you in purifying your thoughts and connect with your innately loving and compassionate nature. It also allows one to collect more extensive merit in the soul’s journey to achieve enlightenment.

The holder has a large hole to fit the Tibetan incense sticks. There are 4 small holes to hold the incense with thin wood.

Please be aware that items from Nepal are hand made and the Tibetan incense are all varying thicknesses so the largest ones sometimes will not fit in the incense burner hole but the medium to smaller sticks will. In the past if I have had an incense burner where the hole didn’t fit the stick I have used a little bit of blu-tack to hold the stick up.
